Within the past hmmmmm, about 3 - 4 months or so, I've been eating out more often, not working out, and drinking soda again. Yep, you know where this post is heading. (in case you didn't; i'm gonna talk about my weight) So because of my weird anti-weight gain kick for all of 2012, I surprised myself when in 2013 I started slacking.

SOOOOOOO, to get back into some kind of shape; other than a circle
- my cousin (Bryson) and I decided to go hiking up Diamond Head for the day. I've been there many times, and I can admit though, it really isn't much of a hike cause it's mostly stairs but it was a hard hike cause of this
heat we have here in Hawaii.

Bryson on the other hand hasn't been to Diamond Head ever in his life, up until now. He's from Waianae so Diamond Head is kinda far for him to travel to.

So, that day I had such bad luck, first Bryson and I were supposed to go to K's Bento in Waipahu before we got on the bus heading to Ala Moana - and guess what....?; it was closed so we had to go to Seven Eleven for our Bentos.  I had Spicy Mochiko Chicken and Teriyaki Chicken.

Along with the bad luck, as we started walking up - my water bottle just happens to open in my backpack.
Then on the way back we caught three wrong buses. UGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

Other than that thought, I must admit I had a great day until I got on the scale the day after..

I gained more weight...
Oh, my life.

Congratulations Kzoo Radio on carrying on the radio tradition for 50 whole years! This year's guest performers were more than awesome they were phenomenal. Mifune Kazuko, Kitayama Mitsuki and one of my favorite bands; Hiroshima! This year because I didn't get to perform I finally got to sit down and watch the rest of the competition.

From what I seen, there was so much new talent. One of the youngest
girls stood out to me; Aolani Silva. Up until this year I didn't know who she was - come to find out she takes from the same sensei. See when I perform at recitals I just sit backstage so I don't usually get to see the other performers.

Aolani sang Sakamoto Fuyumi's debut song Abare Daiko Muho Isshou
Iri. I was blown away by her beautiful Kobushi (singing style). Luckily she placed first in category with 440 points out of 500. I really hope that she'll sing a duet with me in the future cause I'm just so in Love with her voice.

The Guest singers from Japan were pretty cool as well. This singer Kitayama Mitsuki I never heard of, but when she sang her song "Anata no Egao Tutu Aloha," Amy and I couldn't help but run backstage to buy her CD. It was mixed with one of my favorite Hawaiian minyo song  - 'Hole Hole Bushi.'

The main guest singer Mifune Kazuko I knew of for a while. Her song Danna Sama is what made her very popular in Japan. My favorite song by her is Haha Zakura so I was so thrilled when I got her to sign my

This year's grand champion with 455.5 points Carolyn Shimamura was unbelievable. Grandma and I are such good friends with her. She sang Be Alive and in my opinion I think she sang it better than the original singer.

This is the Score;

Zippy's with Grandma

By now everyone should know that I'm a Vegetarian but I can eat Chicken, Fish, and Turkey. By now everyone should know that I love going to restaurants, cause majority of the posts on this Blog are about eating places!

So today after a Doctor's Appointment in PearlCity grandma and I
decided to go get something to eat. So we had to decide to eat at Panda Express or Zippys. Either way I love both of their food, so I glad to go.

When I go to Zippy's my Favorite thing to eat is the Korean Fried
Chicken; but everytime I go there I eat the same thing. Today I decided to try something different. So I had their Regular Fried Chicken (basically the same thing!) with a side of fries.

You see I've had their fried chicken in the past before; but I dont remember it being so juicy. I wish I knew how they kept the inside of the chicken so moist! I know it's fattening, but I just had to!!!

After that grandma took me shopping around Pearl Ridge Shopping Center. I have a thing where I really love Graphic Print shirts. I actually really love the Justice League Characters in their Chibi form!
So I was so happy when I seen them on sale at Sears today! Grandma bought me three! They're so cute! Omg I Love them so much! Thanks Mama!!!!

Maui for Oyama Sensei

So this past weekend Grandma, Amy, and I got to go to Maui for a Good-bye Party for Rev. Oyama. I actually have a really awesome following on Maui, actually even I didn't know until I got there.

This performance was different; this time I had to put more feeling into
songs and understand the meaning of the lyrics so that I could let Rev. Oyama know how appreciated everyone was of him and his work.

I got to wear one of the new kimono I just bought in Asakusa this past
trip. It was also the same one I used when I was on Utsumi Midori's TV show. (Speaking of which is coming to Hawai`i soon)

So I sang only three songs and danced one..
1. Koganezawa Shoji - Arigatou...Kansha
2. Shimizu Mariko - Ozashiki Hole Hole Bushi
3. Maki Yuko - Ai wo Arigatou
and then Danced to TV Drama theme song "Hatarakiman Ondo."

Everyone on Maui is always so nice and welcoming, I really enjoy going there! I can't wait till I go again. I'm hoping that one day I will get to attend the Maui Matsuri! That always seems like fun!

no more sugar!

"Three tails, are better than one," - Mr.Adam. aka my uncle.

So Alina (my cousin, the one my grandma and I babysit) came today wearing a tail. After hearing the story from Uncle Adam we later found out that he had given her sugar today which caused her to rip his fur rug and use the pieces for a tail. If that's not bad enough; now we had to watch her.

Today she was just little devil child from hell just terrorizing the entire house, not listening, and breaking things. Knowing she loves to to swim and the pool was closed today - so we decided to use the big organization box to make a home-made swimming pool in our shower just so we could keep her under control.

We had the big stereo in there and surprised that she really (just like her big
Cousin) likes Taylor Swift's 22. Playing in the tub she calmed down and bit and I got to deep condition her hair. Out the tub she was good for a whole 2 minutes.

It was a horrible day, I just wanted to pull all the hair from my head out cause she was just that crazy today. NO MORE SUGAR FOR YOU!

DIY Ombre

So recently I've been trying to keep up with trends in Fashion and one place I really love to start is YouTube.Usually references there are relevant to current and social events. So since I'm such a computer geek and not a hipster (because hipsters don't admit to being hipster because that's too main streem) I always know which YouTube stars to tune into for certain kinds of Comedy, or topics.

I'm such a fan of MichellePhan... don't judge me.. Hehe~! On YouTube she is the Queen of Makeup Tutorials and recently the founder and owner of EM make up. That link will take you to her Official Make Up website.

Anyways... going off topic just a bit - I noticed some D.I.Y. (aka Do it yourself) videos on the related bar on the side of her videos. There were a lot of Nail videos and I watched a lot of intricate designs for hours until I stumbled onto Ombre designs. I was completely  unaware of what that even meant, but I knew of the style.

For hours and hours I sat in amazement watching people take ordinary clothes and turning it into works of art - mostly using different colored dyes. Even found one video where they made Ombre clothes with Bleach and water. The video was very low quality and the techniques were very unprofessional but the turn out was very awesome.

I own a lot of black clothes (because of body issues) so I knew that bleach would be really awesome on them I tried some light blue plaid, and plain green but the turn out was not as nice as the Blue Tank Top, Denim Shorts, and my new favorite black buttoned shirt. I really Love this look and every time I wear it; people always tell me how awesome the shirt is! I recently took a picture of my house at dusk and I noticed how it looks like an Ombre sky!

I wish I could Ombre style shoes... hmmm... well you know what? I actually might try some of that cause I think it might look pretty 'dope,' on some black shoes!

Anyways - hope to hear from everyone soon!

Friends are Awesome

SoOoOOooOoo... The other day my friend; Mika and I decided to go hang out in Kapolei for the day, well actually she needed to buy pink hair dye.

I was so excited because I haven't seen her in 5 months already. So it's very rare that I ever get to see her!

So well, we got on the bus not really knowing where we were going, the only thing we knew was that we were going to a store called: "Sally's Hair Salon."

So not knowing where we're going and note: both of us don't drive so, the bus is our only form of transportation you really need to know your trip or else you end up going to wrong stops..

Guess what we did!? Got off at the wrong stop -_- so we had to walk in the HOT Hawaiian sun in Mid-day across a freeway in Kapolei and we still don't know where we're going! It was like some higher being up above was punishing us! As we were walking we kept thinking about funny scenarios like if a Cop were to stop us for running around on the free way.See there were times when we had to run before the cars hit us, so it was like super dangerous!

Eventually we found her hair store and she bought her dye and then after she treated me to Genki Sushi! Awesomeness! Free Food, and Sushi! I LOVE MAGURO!

While this was all happening the song 22 by Taylor Swift was in my mind cause it reminded me how life is just awesome and we need to live while we're young! I'm only 17 so trying to live my life like someone my age would be doing!

Hope everyone else is having a great week too!!

For some reason; no matter how many times I clean my room, it always seems to get messy the very next day.

It seems like everyday I'm cleaning, and somehow it always gets messy slowly but surely. Stressing right now about keeping this room clean, like once it's clean I don't even wanna touch anything.

One Plus One Drive Inn, Mo'ili'ili

The other day my family and I went on an outing, well not necessarily an outing but just to get out of the house. For summer break my cousin, Aliyah from Palau stayed with us. So staying in the house would be a waste of summer!

Uncle Adam and Aunty Arleen always talked about this restaurant and how good it is, but I never even thought about going in it. I go to Mo'ili'ili  a lot to go to Toma's Karaoke and the Japanese Cultural Center so I've seen it but just never

have been in it...
It's very tiny but has a very homey feel to it. The food is actually really cheap and the flavors were really awesome as well. I had their Garlic BBQ Chicken (cause I'm a vegetarian and  all) with sriracha sauce on the side, and it was delicious.

We all had mini plates but it was filled, packed even with meat. There was a lot of protein! So basically like most plate lunch places we have here on the island it comes with the main dish which in my case was the BBQ Garlic Chicken on chopped cabbage. The sides always being a Local Custom, Rice and Mac-Salad!
I love Mac Salad so much but it's soooooo bad for my diet!

So if you're passing though Mo'ili'ili make sure to stop by One Plus One Drive Inn!

Shimizu Voice Halloween Recital

Japan Trip 2013 Part IV

So we were gonna go to Odaiba's Oedo Onsen Monogatari but we couldn't go into the Onsen because of grandma's tattoo on her leg. In Japan I forgot that you can't go to an onsen if you have an "Horimono," which is a Tattoo, because of the Yakuza. Well let's get one thing straight - grandma is NOT a Yakuza (Japanese Mafia!) hehe! The Tattoo is of cartoon character Betty Boop... So we couldn't go to the onsen. I
kinda was being Wagamama (bratty) and was mad that we couldn't go. Oh well..

So instead the following day we went to Asakusa again and ate Ramen at my favorite shop called "ARASHI RAMEN." After we were done eating I decided to run to my favorite music shop Yorodo and just so happens that Uesugi Kaori (enka singer) is there and we get to get her autograph and take a picture with her. Yomenaki Misaki is her new song that's doing really good in Japan right now.

After that we went back to Nakamise and grandma got to see the Kannon temple and pray. We even got out Mikuji. Mine was good at first then was junk so had to pray to get the bad away from me. We fooled around the streets playing and taking pictures with the paintings that are all over Asakusa. I love Asakusa so much.

The next day we went to Harajuku one last time and it was raining so no pictures sorry!!!

Japan Trip 2013 Part III

Grandma and I did a lot of things our self, cause Amy and her Husband (George) went on a day tour to mt. Fuji and Hakone. That same day I was invited to perform on Utsumi Midori's online TV show as a guest from Japan. Grandma and I explored the town of Nakameguro while we waited for the show to begin. We found a Book-Off store where I got to buy Enka CDs for only 100yen which is about One Dollar each.

The show was really cute and had a very family and homey feel to it. Utusmi Midori I've known for a while from her appearances on Monomane shows as a judge and the movies her Husband produces. I had such a great time there. I got to sing Bokyo Jonkara and Koga Sensei (Kobayashi Sachiko's Voice Coach) gave me good criticizem about my voice. Luckily he told me the only thing to improve on was to raise the Microphone to my mouth when I speak or else no one can hear me. I was super happy. Grandma even got to appear on the show! I also performed with my new Green Kimono that I had bought in Asakusa the day right before that.
